Amy... I used to dare to hope you would be able to salvage your voice and career, but at this point I'd be happy if you just make it out alive. You have gone to the point where you have no emotional reserves and no capacity to deal with life; you need something just to make you feel normal. You will have to experience so much pain to get back to living straight, and it will take years, but I hope you have the courage to take the first steps. I pray for you often, you are truly an amazing jazz singer, and I don't believe in "natural talent", you worked very hard to gain the abilities you have and your creativity, expressiveness and sweet tremolo are among the very best. I don't have to tell you that you are an enormous talent--you already know that. However, I am a bit concerned about your health. I have no business telling you how to run your life, but please just hear me out as a friend (I would have been your friend long before all this fame started). I feel I must say the following to you.

You are young and I promise that you will see things very differently as you get older. Like you, I use to think that life was all about having to have that "husband" (even though he was not good for me) and being afraid to trust in myself to know that I can be alone and happy too. You have been given a gift of musical talent and I am so glad you are sharing it with the rest of us. However, self esteem and confidence to survive the "music industry and fame" requires an inner knowing. A knowing that the "universal energy forces" will align with your desires if you make choices that are good for your soul. You have been given everything you need to be happy you just have to trust yourself and not depend on outside influences and things (drugs, alcohol, toxic relationships) to get you there. You need to get your husband out of your life (he's using you, spending your money, offering your money to others, etc.). I know he has helped you emotionally at times, but he is also bringing you down and making you dependent on him emotionally ( I know because I have been there). I wish I could make your pain go away (only you can do that) so that you don't continue your destructive behavior. KNOW that there are those who care about you as a person and want to see you happy and continued success both personally and professionally. Take care of yourself Amy -- you are the only won who truly can.

I used to love you then I didnt like how you were acting and stopped liking you. However, I then decided that I couldnt live without you because I love your music. No, not only do I love it thats a broad statement, but I really do feel it inside me. Especially: Back to Black, In My Bed, You Sent Me Flying.
